latest developments
i am the new cr, and since the post of the cr is jinxed, i got a bad cold too… was elected unanimously as there were no other volunteers from among the female half of the class… but a few males were quite interested, so i acted as an election commissioner, and we had elections, which were a lot of fun, and i managed to keep the class organised during such an exciting event… the candidate i supported won (ankur… had suggested that we have elections coz i wanted him to continue being the cr), but the next day, after some understanding between avinav and ankur, avinav became the other cr.
so, next, i sang a solo song today (for the first time in my life… even in group songs, i would never stand in front of any of the mikes) in the conference hall in front of quite a decently large audience, for selection into the cultural committee… i was shaking badly, and i think i sounded bad (the song was ‘kabhi kabhi aditi’… a very easy one actually, which is why i selected it), but they put my name down in the list. so am very happy and proud of myself.
and i mailed two poems to the literary committee (of which i am a member) mail id, and ironking thought i had copied them from somewhere. ::looks offended::
on a roll
mom is stricter than dad… the kind who would go like: ’saara din baahar paise udate rehte ho, ghar ke khane ki baat kuchh aur hi hoti hai. mote ho jayoge, aage ke liye jaan kahaan se aayegi… blah blah.’ dad is like: ‘acchha bas ek baar. chaat khane ka bada mann kar raha. chal brownie khaane chalte hain. pizza hut chalein?’ i am more like dad, tipu is more like mum. his departure has shifted the balance in our favour. the end result: this saturday, we went to watch jaane tu ya jaane na (for me, again) followed by a stomach-bursting dinner at McD’s. the next day, sunday, we went to eat brownie at barista, then went to ccd, had coffees and cookies (all after a dinner of pau-bhaji, super tastily made by mum) and sat and gossiped and came back. and then, imagine, even mumma said, “kal kahaan leke jayegi?” however, being the most responsible person in the family, i refused. bahot ho gaya. vaise bhi we are going to shimla the day after tomorrow. tab bahot gand khayenge. but its nice.
my clg starting from tomorrow. new prof resolutions:
- run or do cross training everyday.
- work very hard on resume.
- go to clg on cycle and learn how to drive car and scooter.
- not sleep in the lectures and make notes. and study as regularly as possible.
- try to spend not more than 45 mins on cell… phone bill should not exceed 400 per month.
- not worry abt class politics.
- maintain a neat and clean room.
- inculcate good reading habits. and must not forget to take ramdev’s davai.

holidays
started on 6th. and the first day of the new session is on 23rd. met some of the freshers today who had come for counseling… didnt like them much, to be really honest… but i guess thats coz its hard to digest that we’ve become sophos. then went for lunch with friends at pizza hut (pizza) and oven fresh (pasta). quite nice. most probably have my case tomorrow (or max, day after tomorrow) in the high court for the kvpy scholarship which i was supposed to be getting coz of the olympiads… no lawyer, so i’ll be fighting my case on my own.
and have been working for state aids control society (SACS). i have to go as a client to the various hiv/aids counseling centres in the city and its periphery, and give a quatlitative assessment of the services provided at these centres. so far the pgi new opd block centre has fared the worst. 3 places are left now… one in pkl, another in manimajra and the 3rd in my clg, and i am not looking fwd to going to this 3rd place, coz it is located in b-block, which houses the library and the opds, and consequently, you get to see all your seniors and batchmates there. if anyone recognises me it will be quite an important news.
and what else… the gluco watch thing is looking up again, though again am encountering dead ends, but hopefully will make some progress…
and am reading simon singh’s (the same author who wrote ‘fermat’s last theorem’ and ‘the cracking codebook’) ‘big bang’, which is quite a pleasant read. told mumma a bit abt time dilation and special theory of relativity a couple of days back… she was quite shocked.
jaane tu ya jaane na
well… i dont really need to give a review. you must have heard that its a great, must-watch, refreshing movie, which it is… i really enjoyed naseeruddin shah’s character, ‘teen shartein’, aditi-vs-amit, and that ‘5 saal pata nahi kahaan chalege?’ ‘phone pe beta, phone pe’. and i thought imran khan was awesome… looks like a combo of aamir khan and daniel radcliffe. but is an infinitely better actor than dan, and obviously much younger and cuter than aamir khan. i hope he goes a long way.

its almost as if i forgot i had a blog… these past few days have been disappointing, with me reading novels, when i should have been studying. and possibly not doing as badly as i did in my b.chem. viva, though MAYBE i couldnt have done better even if i had studied more, since i studied everything, merely forgot… got a bit unlucky i guess, but never mind. tomorrow is anat, and i should study for that since its the toughest. anyway.
so i read godfather (awesome!), 3 mistakes (theek thi), half of fountainhead (no comments till i finish). after tomorrow, am going to be busy, post a bit of partying, of course. i am forgetting everything already. but i suppose, once i get promoted, i’ll get to revise everything.
i feel some regret (especially for respiration… had studied it so well while the teacher was teaching, that i never studied it again, as a result of which i know it the least now), but i’ll make up, definitely.
will buy harrison’s today or tomorrow. ironking says we’ll get it tomorrow.
as for novels, once upon a time i had promised myself that i wont read many novels… coz they are stupid time waste (which they are), but then godfather is a classic, 3 mistakes is the now-thing, and ayn rand is a genius, so had to make an exception. but no more, for sure. no more sheldon, chetan bhagat, etc. again. i hadnt enjoyed fps THAT much, and i didnt like 3 mistakes so much either, so. btw, i thought vidya wasnt very convincing…
