Plexus 2009
our intra-college fest. we were the organising batch this time round, and it was from 24th to 26th aug.
day 1: spectacular decorations, and lighting. we had a life size ship at the entrance, engineered by sanjay. the idea was you were entering a ship when you entered the conference hall. but several technical difficulties with the sound and slippery carpets.
day 2: debate was a good show… i got the best speaker against prize (free bbq nation lunch coupon + bluetooth set worth rs 3000 + a few useless discount coupons). in the rest, the audience was relatively less, so not as much fun, but the events were good.
day 3: kickass sound. first event– inter batch fashion show competition. stupendous hit. 60 ‘models’ walked the ramp. i created the soundtrack for our theme round (gangsters)… it was a really really good show. and not at all cheesy or downmarket… beautifully choreographed, nice clothes, and some really good modelling. we won the best team award. and strangely, the judges converted it into a “beauty pageant” out of the blue, and after 2-3 rounds, me and kartik were adjudged the best models (funny, i know).
then the rock show happened. Because we had enlarged the stage and constructed a ramp for the fashion show, the audience got too separated from us during the show. apparently, people enjoyed it… but it didnt feel too good performing without the audience close to us.
then m4u. suffice it to say that rosie and sartaj took it to a new ‘level’. it was at it’s cheesiest best, especially since the participants were real “bold”.
post plexus party: in one of the best discs: mission arabia. one word– disaster. big time bouncer mishandling. batish landed up in emergency with some soft tissue injury… the bouncer is probably out of his job now.
for all the good things: a big thank you to anuj and sanjay, the best cc’s in the world. and a lot many other people who worked so hard.
for all the bad things: bad luck.

anonymous tune part 2
i have kind of forgotten what the tune was exactly… but i have a feeling that it was adagio in C minor by yanni. there’s something very powerful about this tune… it causes tachycardia in me for some reason…
bored of cynicism
a little secret… i didnt like RDB so much, when i first watched it, and didnt like it a lot more when i re-watched it… it kind of pissed me off. a bunch of young people, very cynical, thinking life was playing games with them, and trying to redeem themselves in the end by doing something, i dunno… i guess, weird.
it tends to piss me off when someone calls life sad, when someone talks about what a cruel life it is, when someone rambles about his/her hatred for hypocrisy, for people not taking a stand, blah blah, when he/she criticizes most things, behaves silent and depressed, etc. sometimes, one does feel sad (bad rel, bad academic status, etc.), and goes through all this… but abusing life on a chronic basis, without any clear instigating factor… well that appears to me to be a loser attempt at philosophy.
actually being pissed off at this cynicism is also cynical in a way. but whatever… everybody, please cheer up. its a lot more fun that way.
and btw, happy independence day!
